FAQ

Q: What is That’s How Kids Die?

A: THKD is a webzine created, owned and operated by me. It is dedicated to covering the best in extreme metal. I try to publish new content as often as possible, but sometimes pesky life gets in the way.

Q: Will THKD review my album/demo/dvd?

A: Maybe. Probably not.  I only review things I would recommend to someone else. This means if I find your release to be mediocre, lame, or downright awful, it will not be reviewed.  Also, I am only interested in the black, death, doom, thrash, experimental, progessive and traditional genres of metal or grindcore and “real” hardcore. This means I have no interest in your christian metalcore or Hot Topic bro-mosh band, so don’t e-mail me asking for a review/interview. Furthermore, unless I already have an established relationship with your band/label/pr company/etc, there is a very good chance I’m going to flat out ignore any unsolicited material.

Q: What is the turnaround time for a review or interview?

A: All I can say is please be patient.  Since I’m only one person and it can take me some time to digest a piece of music, it can in turn take some time for a review to be written and published or for an e-mail interview to be sent.

Q: How do I get in touch with THKD?

A: The best and easiest way is via e-mail, thatshowkidsdie@gmail.com.  I can also be reached via twitter, myspace and facebook (see the “contact” page of this site), but if you want a quick response, I suggest e-mail… though in all honesty I don’t guarantee a quick response to e-mail either.

Q: What types of media are you set up to review?

A: I will consider CDs, CD-Rs, DVDs, vinyl and cassettes for review.  Hard copies are always preferable to shitty MP3s and quite frankly, if you’re too lazy to send me a hard copy of your album, it probably means you’re just spamming my inbox along w/ a million other sites/webzines/blogs/etc and don’t actually give a shit about working with me or what I think of your album or demo.
